Singer Nivea says she was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year and is feeling grateful as she continues treatment, according to E! News.
In a July 21 appearance on Cadillac Chronicles TV, the “Don’t Mess With My Man” artist said she is “very grateful for life” and added that her treatment has been going well so far. She said she expects that progress to continue.
Nivea later told People that she was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia, a slower-moving and uncommon form of blood marrow cancer. She said the diagnosis came as a surprise, especially after she needed two bone marrow biopsy procedures before it was confirmed.
She also said doctors told her the disease was not hereditary or caused by lifestyle choices, which she described as a relief. Nivea said the experience has pushed her to live with more gratitude and focus on what matters most, including her music, audio engineering school and time with her children.
