A pink stuffed donkey found on a British Columbia ferry is back with its 5-year-old owner after an unexpected trip that was shared on social media, according to UPI Odd News.
BC Ferries said the toy was discovered aboard the Salish Raven after a trip between Victoria and Pender Island. The ferry operator posted photos of the donkey online and followed its journey across its social media channels.
Those posts showed the stuffed animal exploring parts of the ferry, including the bridge, engine room and gift shop. The toy quickly picked up a new nickname from followers: Churro the Burro.
The online attention eventually reached Abigail Broadribb, who said she had not realized her son Alfie had lost the donkey until she saw a news article about it. Broadribb told CTV News the family was grateful, and said the toy will keep its new name, Churro the Burro.
