Sheryl Crow is preparing to release a new album titled Pick You Up, and she has already unveiled its lead track, “Freedom Bus,” featuring Jesse Welles, according to Pitchfork.
The seven-song project was co-written by Crow and longtime collaborator Jeff Trott. It is set to arrive on October 9 through Old Green Barn.
In a statement, Crow said she does not take freedom lightly and reflected on the sacrifices behind it, adding that she hopes listeners will remember the meaning of respectful disagreement.
She also said the album is meant to speak to being human, searching for connection, and finding hope during chaotic times. The tracklist includes “Freight Train,” “Perfect,” “Pick You Up,” “Flat Earth,” “I’ve Got Your Number,” “Heaven Help Us,” and “Freedom Bus.”
