Cristina Ulbrich, the wife of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, has died at age 48 after battling cancer, according to E! News.
The Falcons confirmed her death on July 31. Team owner and chairman Arthur Blank said Cristina was an important part of the Falcons family and praised the way she supported her loved ones through every challenge.
Blank said Cristina’s greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind, adding that her strength and spirit will live on through them. Jeff and Cristina met in 1997 during a recruiting trip at the University of Hawaii, where Jeff later played college football.
The couple married and had three children together: sons Jax and Jace and daughter Samantha. Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski also said the team is standing with Jeff and the children now and in the long term.
