Sex Pistols have announced a new reissue of their 1996 live album Filthy Lucre Live to mark 30 years since the band’s surprise reunion, according to NME.
The album captured the group’s June 23, 1996 performance at London’s Finsbury Park, when Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock shared the stage again in one of the decade’s most unexpected comebacks.
The reissue is due out on November 20 through UMR as a 2LP red vinyl set and a single CD. It will include bonus tracks “No Fun” and “Buddies” on the release for the first time, after both songs had previously only appeared as Japanese bonus tracks.
According to NME, the Finsbury Park show leaned heavily on the band’s only studio album, 1977’s Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols, with songs including “Anarchy In The U.K.,” “God Save The Queen,” “Holidays In The Sun” and “Pretty Vacant.” Steve Jones said the record proved the band could play and called them “a powerhouse,” while Paul Cook said the reunion was about bringing the original lineup back together and showing what they could do.
The reissue arrives during another active period for the band. Cook, Jones and Matlock are currently performing with Frank Carter, and the group is set to continue with major live dates this year, including shows in Manchester, Cardiff and at the Isle of Wight Festival. A North American tour is planned for September, followed by UK and Ireland arena dates in December.
