Animal rescuers in Scotland helped a male fox cub that had been seen wandering for at least two days with its head stuck inside a plastic bottle, according to UPI Odd News.
The Scottish SPCA said a rescue team was sent to a Glasgow neighborhood on June 27 after a neighbor reported the situation. When rescuers first tried to reach the fox, it ran into its den, so they returned for another attempt the next day.
After searching for some time and trying several times to catch the cub, rescuers thought they had lost him when he disappeared. The SPCA said he later came out of the undergrowth with the bottle still around his head.
Rescuers removed the bottle and took the fox to the University of Glasgow's Small Animal Hospital for treatment of a neck wound. He is now being cared for at the SPCA's National Wildlife Rescue Centre until he is healthy enough to be released.
