The 21st Annual Seeds of Change Gala is nearly sold out, with 500 tickets already purchased, according to InMaricopa. This year’s Royal Christmas edition will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino.
Torri Anderson, a board member of Against Abuse and chair of the gala, said the event is centered on helping families in the community grow and thrive. She also said this year’s event will include news about the next stage of growth for the organization.
Proceeds from the gala benefit Against Abuse, a nonprofit that has provided social services in Pinal County since 1981. Its crisis shelter has been operating since 2005 and has provided housing for hundreds of survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
The fundraiser helps cover shelter operating costs and includes a live auction of 20 decorated Christmas trees, along with a silent auction and raffle, according to InMaricopa. Anderson said the event continues to grow each year because of community support and a desire to help ensure a bright future.
