Samantha Busch says her 11-year-old son Brexton has reached a meaningful milestone in racing months after the death of his father, NASCAR driver Kyle Busch. In an Instagram Stories post on July 18, Samantha shared that Brexton earned his first race win since the family’s loss, according to E! News.
Brexton won the restricted micro sprint class event at Port City Raceway in Oklahoma on July 17. Samantha said the victory came with “a lot of emotions,” adding that she is proud of how much her son is handling at such a young age.
She also said it was painful that Kyle was not there to share the moment. In her post, Samantha said she thought about Kyle while watching Brexton celebrate, noting how much Kyle loved supporting their son at the track.
Brexton also wrote about the win on Instagram, saying it was his first since his dad died and that the past two months had been especially hard. Kyle died May 21 at 41 from severe pneumonia that progressed into sepsis, according to the report.
Samantha has previously spoken publicly about the family’s grief and the support they have received since Kyle’s death. The couple also shared daughter Lennix, who was born in 2022.
