Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French says fans will ultimately decide whether Sebastian Bach works as the band’s new vocalist, according to NME. Bach is set to fill in for Dee Snider on the group’s upcoming reunion dates.
The band previously canceled a planned tour with Snider after revealing in February that he had been dealing with degenerative arthritis for several years. Twisted Sister later moved ahead with a 2026 reunion tour, which will mark the band’s 50th anniversary and its first reunion in a decade.
French said on Rock ‘N’ Blues Experience that Bach was “the only person that could do it” and praised his stage presence and metal pedigree. He said that after eight hours of rehearsal, he had no doubts about how the shows would go.
Addressing criticism from some fans, French said the reaction will come down to whether the public accepts the lineup. He pointed to other legacy acts that have continued performing without all of their original members, including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foreigner and Queen.
Snider has said he is not on his “deathbed” and has explained that health issues, including heart problems and arthritis, led to the tour cancellation. He said he plans to keep hosting his radio show, writing and directing, but is not planning to return to the road soon.
