Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that he will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Deadpool & Wolverine, according to E! News. The 2024 film paired his Deadpool character with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
Reynolds shared the update during a Fanatics Fest panel on July 19, saying there are still “deep cuts” from the comics and movies that haven’t been used yet. He also told the crowd that there is “eventually, remotely another Deadpool film.”
At the same time, Reynolds has said before that he does not expect Deadpool to lead another solo movie in the same way. In an April appearance on Today’s Sunday Sitdown Live, he said he thinks the character works best as part of a group and is likely to be a supporting character.
Reynolds has produced all three movies in the franchise so far and co-wrote the last two. He also said he has “some stuff kind of written” for another film.
The actor has often spoken about the support he gets from his family, including wife Blake Lively and their four children. His family attended the world premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024, where Reynolds thanked them from the stage.
