Roxette say their planned 40th anniversary North American tour has been cancelled after Live Nation US decided not to move forward with the dates, according to NME.
The Swedish pop-rock act said fans were notified that tickets would be refunded after the U.S. and Canada shows were pulled late last month. The tour had been set to feature Roxette alongside Nick Lowe and Taylor Dayne on a triple bill.
In a statement shared on social media, Roxette said the postponement was due to logistics and “hugely increased touring costs.” The band added, “Hope to see you some other time down the road.”
Founder and co-frontman Per Gessle later said the band was disappointed and had been looking forward to the run, noting that the decision was made by Live Nation USA. The tour was scheduled to begin Sept. 10 in Clarkston, Michigan, and end Oct. 9 in Washington.
