Rosie O'Donnell says her decision to leave The Rosie O’Donnell Show after six seasons came after she learned her finances had grown to $100 million, according to E! News.
In an interview published July 11, O'Donnell said hearing that figure made her think, “OK, now I’m done.” She said others questioned why she would walk away, but she felt she already had enough.
The comedian also said she wanted to spend more time with her children. She said her goal was to attend softball games and school plays, and to have the money needed to support her family, philanthropy and strangers.
O'Donnell's talk show aired from 1996 to 2002, and Warner Brothers reportedly offered her $100 million to extend it for two more years, which she turned down. She said she does not understand the drive to keep measuring life by money alone.
