Rachel Chinouriri has released a new single, “One Song Away From Crying,” giving listeners the first preview of her upcoming second studio album, I Think I Spoke Too Soon, due out Oct. 16, according to Rolling Stone.
In the song, Chinouriri sings about hitting an emotional breaking point even while looking polished for a night out. She described the track in a statement as being about the moment when you realize you need to leave and confront something more personal beneath the surface.
Chinouriri previously told Rolling Stone that she wanted to take a different approach after What a Devastating Turn of Events, saying she hoped to write from a happier place and focus on healing rather than trauma.
She said the new album will explore self-forgiveness and her relationship with herself. Ahead of the album’s release, Chinouriri plans to host intimate performances in select cities including Los Angeles, New York, Dublin, London, Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Sydney and Melbourne.
