Prince Harry says he and Meghan Markle continue to honor Princess Diana in their home with a yearly tradition tied to her birthday and the anniversary of her death.
While attending Scotty’s Summer Festival in Warwickshire on July 11, Harry told People, according to E! News, that the family marks the occasions with lemon drizzle cake. He added that traditions matter, especially when they are sweet.
Harry and Meghan share two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. Harry has previously spoken about feeling Diana’s presence as a parent, saying in a 2022 interview with Today that “grandma Diana” is still helping him.
Princess Diana died in 1997 after a car crash in Paris at age 36. Harry and his brother, Prince William, have often spoken about the influence their mother had on their lives and the effort she made to give them as normal a childhood as possible.
