Pitbull performed a cover of Oasis’ “Wonderwall” during his BST Hyde Park concert in London on Friday, July 10, according to NME. The song has been taken up by England football fans during this year’s World Cup run.
While on stage, Pitbull told the crowd he wanted to represent them in the best way he could. The performance came during a night that also saw him and the audience set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.
The 1995 Oasis track has become closely associated with the England team this World Cup, with players and fans singing it together after recent matches. England later beat Norway 2-1 on July 11 to reach the World Cup semi-final, where they are set to face Argentina in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday, July 15.
Pitbull’s Hyde Park show was also notable for a guest appearance from Kesha, who joined him in a bald cap to perform “Timber” for the first time in 13 years. The concert was part of the European leg of his Party After Dark Tour.
