Pinal County Recorder Dana Lewis is urging voters not to wait until Election Day to turn in early ballots, saying the timing can affect how quickly results are available on election night, according to InMaricopa.
Lewis made the comments during the City of Maricopa Republican Club meeting on Saturday. She said early voting for the Nov. 3 general election begins Oct. 7, and the voter registration deadline is Oct. 5.
Lewis said about 80% of Pinal County voters usually cast their ballots early, either by mail or through in-person early voting. She added that roughly 17% to 19% typically vote at a polling place on Election Day.
The county has five satellite offices for early voting, and Lewis said Maricopa voters can use the Maricopa-Stanfield Justice Court at 19955 N. Wilson Ave., Building 100. During early voting, residents may vote at any of the county’s satellite offices, while Election Day voting remains tied to a voter’s assigned precinct.
Lewis also said Pinal County has 93 Election Day voting locations and 15 ballot drop boxes on county property that are monitored by recorded surveillance.
