Peking Duk have released their first full-length album, Paradise, according to Billboard. The Australian electronic duo of Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles put the 14-track project out on Friday, Aug. 14.
The album took three years to complete and includes guest appearances from Killer Mike, Rico Nasty, Phantogram and Australian singer-songwriter Matt Corby. It also opens with the voice of actor and activist Jack Thompson and features the Roland TB-303 on the track “Jack Thompson.”
Hyde and Styles said the record came together after they reset their approach following the pandemic and a split from Sony Music. They now work under a Virgin Music partnership that allows them to keep creative control.
The duo, who have been releasing singles for 16 years, said making the album felt fun and pressure-free. Hyde said the goal was simply to make a strong album, while Styles described the studio process as a playful back-and-forth between the two.
