Glen Hansard, the Oscar-winning Irish singer-songwriter and actor known for fronting the Frames and for his work in Once and the Swell Season, has died, according to Stereogum.
Hansard was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in the west of Dublin, after emergency services were called shortly before 4:30 a.m. local time, the BBC reported.
ATC Management, which represented Hansard, said in a statement that he died in the early hours of the morning following a road traffic accident in Dublin.
The statement also said Hansard's family is shocked and heartbroken by the loss and asked for privacy during this difficult time. The family also thanked the emergency services who responded to the scene.
