Patrick Mahomes says the recovery from his knee injury is not finished and could affect the rest of his playing career, according to E! News.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback tore his ACL and had to end the 2025-2026 season early. He later had surgery in December to repair his ACL and LCL in his left knee.
Speaking to reporters on July 24 at Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, Mahomes said he feels ready to return to football this fall. He said he has been rehabbing in Kansas City every day and is excited to get back on the practice field with his teammates.
Mahomes also said he feels stronger than he has before and believes he is ready to run the offense. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Mahomes has been working hard, but the team will continue to monitor his progress before deciding whether he will be ready for the Sept. 14 opener against the Denver Broncos.
