Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere say their working relationship on The Shards quickly turned into a close friendship, according to E! News.
The pair have a notable family connection: Gerber’s mother, Cindy Crawford, and Gere’s father, Richard Gere, were married from 1991 to 1995. Homer told E! News at the New York City premiere on July 27 that he and Kaia had not met before filming and first spent time together at a bar with the rest of the cast.
Homer said the experience felt normal from his side and that Kaia became a very close friend during production. He added that it has been “lovely” working with her on the Ryan Murphy drama, which adapts Bret Easton Ellis’ novel.
Kaia shared the same sentiment, telling E! News that Homer is funny, supportive and an excellent scene partner. She said the two have grown especially close through the project.
Homer also said he regularly turns to his father for guidance while working, describing Richard Gere as a valuable resource for advice on how to handle life on set and build a lasting career.
