Oakwood Homes has opened in Maricopa, and the builder says it already has its first local buyer. According to InMaricopa, the milestone was marked during the company’s grand opening Saturday at its model home in Moonlight, one of the city’s newest subdivisions.
Carlea Pappe and her family became Oakwood’s first homebuyers in Maricopa after touring a model home on a whim earlier in the week. Pappe said the process moved quickly and that the home’s layout and price helped make the decision easier.
Division President Michael Fraley said Oakwood is aiming to offer attainable housing and provide “more home for their money.” He said the company wants to give buyers as much square footage as possible for the lowest price point it can.
Pappe said her family also liked the neighborhood’s location a few minutes outside Maricopa, along with its proximity to her daughter’s school and amenities for children. The family expects to close in November and hopes to be settled in time for Christmas.
