KATSEYE took part in a new episode of the digital series Celebrity Substitute and ended up on the receiving end of a classroom lesson, according to Billboard. The clip was shared ahead of the group’s upcoming EP WILD, which is set to arrive Friday.
In the video, Yoonchae, Lara, Daniela and Sophia visit PS17 elementary school in Queens, New York City, where they meet a room full of students. Megan did not take part because she was ill, and Sophia has recently announced that she will be going on hiatus.
Instead of teaching, the group is quizzed by the kids on current slang and even how long it takes to make a song. Yoonchae says the group rehearses every day for about six hours, which leads to the students showing off the viral “6-7” hand motion.
The students also explain terms like “skibidi,” “sigma” and “brain rot.” When Lara asks how to use “brain rot” as a compliment, one student quickly tells her that she cannot, and the group decides to leave that phrase out of their vocabulary.
Hosted by Julian Shapiro-Barnum, Celebrity Substitute has previously featured guests including Noah Kahan, Kehlani and A$AP Rocky. Billboard says the full episode will be released on the show’s YouTube channel Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
