Noah Kahan is giving fans a reality check on some of his most commonly misheard lyrics, and the singer says they are not nearly as explicit as many listeners assumed.
In a post on X on Wednesday, July 22, Kahan shared what he called “some lyric clarifications” for fans who may have been singing along incorrectly at shows, according to Billboard.
Among the lines he addressed were lyrics from “Stick Season,” “23” and “Haircut.” Kahan said one lyric is “Saw your mom,” not “Suck your mom,” and another is “Beat your ass into morning,” not “Eat your ass in the morning.” He also clarified that “Glad you got your act cleaned” is the correct line in “Haircut.”
Kahan is currently touring in support of The Great Divide, his three-week Billboard 200 No. 1 album that was released in April. Even with the corrections, he told fans they are free to “sing from whatever place your mind takes you.”
