Nick Jonas says his 4-year-old daughter, Malti, has already been introduced to the Camp Rock franchise. Speaking to E! News at the Aug. 10 premiere of Camp Rock 3, the Jonas Brothers singer said the family has started with the newest film and is working backward through the earlier Disney titles.
“We have shown our daughter this movie,” Nick told E! News. He added that Malti has not seen the first two Camp Rock movies yet, but said that is part of the fun of introducing her to the series in reverse.
Nick said he expects many new viewers may discover the franchise the same way, beginning with Camp Rock 3 before going back to the originals. He also said Malti enjoyed the film and that he believes children around the world will connect with it too.
The return to Camp Rock was also emotional for the cast, according to E! News. Joe Jonas said stepping back onto the set felt familiar, while Demi Lovato said it was “so nostalgic and so exciting” to revisit the role of Mitchie after all these years.
Camp Rock 3 premieres on Disney Channel on Aug. 13 and will be available on Disney+ the following day.
