Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds to take over Brighton record shop for homecoming show

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have announced a takeover at Brighton independent record shop Resident ahead of their upcoming homecoming show, according to NME. The band will headline Preston Park on Friday, July 31, as part of their UK and European tour.

The pop-up at Resident will run from Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2. It will include a merch selection with both existing and new items, plus a range created specially for the Preston Park date that will only be available at the shop and at the concert.

Fans will also be able to buy an exclusive tote bag made with Resident, along with classic Bad Seeds and Cave Things merchandise. The shop will also stock a limited-edition vinyl release, offer discounts on the band’s album catalogue, and hold giveaways. A special post box will let fans send physical letters to Cave’s Red Hand Files.

Across the same weekend, Cave will also take over Brighton’s Duke Of York’s Picturehouse for a series of curated screenings. The event will feature five films that have influenced his songwriting, each introduced with a recorded message from Cave.

Cave has previously said he was “thrilled beyond words” to return to Brighton with The Bad Seeds, calling the show a homecoming and promising a “big, bad and beautiful” performance. The concert supports the band’s 2024 album Wild God and is their only UK-exclusive show.
