My Chemical Romance members DJed at a fan party in Wembley on July 9, with Gerard Way ending his set with an unexpected song choice, according to NME.
The event, called Battery City Underground: Danger Days A Release Party, took place at BOXPARK Wembley the night before the deluxe edition of the band’s 2010 album Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys was released.
The party was billed as featuring DJ Sean Smith, along with guest appearances from DJ Kobra Kid and DJ Party Poison, the Danger Days alter-egos tied to Mikey and Gerard Way. Footage shared online showed Gerard behind the decks as DJ Party Poison.
The clip drew attention for the song he used to close the night: When The Toad Came Home from The Wind In The Willows. The track was described as a particularly odd choice alongside the band’s Danger Days theme.
The release party came during My Chemical Romance’s sold-out three-show Wembley Stadium run. The band opened the London residency on July 8, with two more shows scheduled for July 10 and July 11, while BOXPARK Wembley is also hosting a My Chemical Romance Fanpark event on July 10.
