A new Lily Allen documentary is set to arrive on Amazon Prime Video in 2027, according to NME. The untitled film will provide what the announcement calls an “intimate portrait” of Allen’s life and career.
Mat Whitecross, who directed documentaries including Oasis: Supersonic and Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams, is attached to direct the project. The film will trace Allen’s rise from the “Queen of MySpace” to her current status as a major figure in modern pop.
According to the press release, the documentary will include interviews with people who know Allen best and focus on themes of resilience and reinvention. It will also be released in cinemas around the world, in addition to streaming on Prime Video.
The announcement comes after Allen’s recent album West End Girl, and after she said she was “extremely proud” of her recent tour. NME also noted that Allen recently appeared in a stage adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s Night and Day.
