Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm, known to fans as Sporty Spice, married Australian model Chris Dingwall on Saturday, July 18, in a private ceremony in the British countryside, according to British Vogue.
Chisholm wore a simple white floor-length gown and carried a bouquet of wildflowers for the ceremony at Country House Cumbria in the Lake District. She and Dingwall reportedly also had a legal ceremony in Australia before the U.K. wedding.
Several members of the Spice Girls attended the celebration, including Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Geri Halliwell-Horner. Victoria Beckham could not be there because she was in New York for FIFA World Cup matches that weekend.
Even though Beckham missed the wedding, she still played a part in Chisholm’s look. Chisholm wore a dress designed by Beckham, and Beckham later told British Vogue that she lent Chisholm the exact dress from her own wardrobe when the original did not fit in time.
Chisholm said Beckham’s dress became her “something borrowed” and called it special to wear. British Vogue also shared photos from the event, including images of the couple together and Chisholm with her Spice Girls bandmates.
