Jonathan Davis joins Yoshiki for orchestral version of KoRn’s 'Freak On A Leash'

KoRn frontman Jonathan Davis joined Yoshiki on stage Thursday night for an orchestral performance of the band’s hit “Freak On A Leash,” according to NME.

The collaboration took place at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles during the first of two “Yoshiki Classical” shows scheduled at the venue. Yoshiki’s concert series features the Japanese musician performing with a full orchestra and giving familiar songs a classical treatment.

For the performance, Davis sang a more subdued version of the track than the original recording, though the song built in intensity as it went on. Yoshiki played piano with the orchestra before later moving to the drum kit.

The second Los Angeles show was held Friday night at the same venue. NME notes that Yoshiki has also drawn attention in recent years for other high-profile projects, including composing Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary theme song in 2024.
