Marvel Studios appears ready to bring the Avengers back to Hall H at Comic-Con International as it builds excitement for the December release of Avengers: Doomsday. According to ABC News, the panel is one of the most anticipated events at the convention, which opens in San Diego on Wednesday evening.
The convention is expected to draw more than 120,000 people over four days. What started in 1970 as a small gathering of science fiction and comics fans has grown into a massive pop culture event with cosplay, autograph sessions, concerts and panels on topics ranging from video games to fencing.
Marvel is not the only studio using the event to spotlight upcoming projects. ABC News reports that DC Studios will promote its HBO series Lanterns with a training-themed activation in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter and a Friday panel featuring Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler.
Comic-Con will also feature television and film updates for fans of Widow’s Bay and Spaceballs: The New One. The sequel to Mel Brooks’ 1987 parody is set for release next year and includes returning cast members Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman and Brooks, who is 100 years old.
