A routine traffic stop in Maricopa ended with an aggravated DUI arrest Sunday night after police say a driver ran a red light at John Wayne Parkway and Lakeview Drive.
According to InMaricopa, an officer stopped a silver Nissan Altima around 7:40 p.m. on July 26 after seeing it go through the intersection against the signal.
The driver was identified as 29-year-old Brian S. Notah. Police said he had slurred speech and red, watery eyes when he was pulled over. When officers asked him to get out of the car, they said he lost his balance and had to steady himself on the vehicle.
Police also said Notah was driving with only an identification card because his license was suspended. According to the probable cause statement, he had two prior DUI arrests and was arrested on suspicion of DUI, aggravated DUI and a third DUI offense within 60 months.
