Fenix Flexin pushes back after Medasin says “Rubberz” is fully AI-generated

Shoreline Mafia rapper Fenix Flexin has responded after artist and producer Medasin posted a detailed breakdown claiming Flexin’s viral song “Rubberz” was fully AI-generated, according to Stereogum.

The song became an immediate hit when it arrived at the start of summer, and suspicions about AI involvement surfaced almost right away. For weeks, Flexin and credited producer Purp On The Beat avoided directly addressing the claims, while giving cautious statements that did not confirm the song was AI-generated.

According to Stereogum, Flexin later posted what he described as a breakdown of “Rubberz,” including stems he said showed the track was built with standard recording and production methods. Medasin kept challenging that explanation in follow-up posts and said Flexin deleted his post shortly afterward.

Medasin’s original breakdown claimed the song was made using software called Treblo, which was previously known as Sonauto AI. He also said Flexin had posted a snippet before the song’s release with “Sonauto” in the file name, and that the rebrand to Treblo happened two days before “Rubberz” came out.

In later Instagram stories, Medasin said Flexin was sending direct messages and sharing what he believed were project files, but he argued the material was not proof the song was created traditionally. Medasin said he wanted transparency about whether the track was fully AI-generated and suggested the conversation should continue with more disclosure around AI music.
