Maricopa’s senior and veteran communities gathered July 9 at the Maricopa Community Center to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, according to InMaricopa.
The event included patriotic activities led by children dressed in red, white and blue. Guests took part in table games such as trivia and dice challenges.
Attendees also tossed streamers to represent fireworks and sang “Happy Birthday” to the country. Sweet treats were served during the celebration.
According to InMaricopa, veterans also shared stories from their military service during the gathering. The story first appeared in the August issue of InMaricopa.
