Reese Witherspoon says her father is recovering after being hospitalized following a fall at his Nashville home. The actress shared the update on her Instagram Stories on Aug. 7, according to E! News.
“I want to let everyone know that he is fine now,” Witherspoon wrote. She added that he is “being taken care of by wonderful doctors and nurses” and thanked people who reached out to the family.
Witherspoon did not provide any additional details about the fall. However, a spokesperson for Nashville Metro Emergency Communications told People that officials received a call about an unconscious man at 4 p.m. local time, and he was taken to a nearby hospital.
Over the years, Witherspoon has often spoken about the support she received from her parents, including her father John Witherspoon, a retired otolaryngologist and former U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, and her mother Betty Witherspoon, a former nurse.
