Maricopa’s newest indoor recreation facility is set to welcome the public next month. The Fieldhouse at Copper Sky will hold its grand opening Saturday, Oct. 10, according to InMaricopa.
The free event will run from 9 a.m. to noon at 17985 W. Greythorn Drive. City officials say the celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, sports activities, food trucks and professional wrestling.
Visitors will be able to try basketball, volleyball and pickleball, along with arts and crafts and an inflatable play area for children. Phoenix Championship Wrestling is also scheduled to put on a wrestling show.
The 42,000-square-foot facility has been under development for more than two years. The city first proposed the $16.2 million project in 2024 to add more indoor court space as recreation programs continued to grow, and construction began in June 2025.
According to InMaricopa, the building can fit four basketball courts, six volleyball courts and 12 pickleball courts, though not all of them can be used at the same time. City officials have said the extra space is needed because Copper Sky’s existing facilities have become increasingly booked.
