Terrible’s gas station in Maricopa moves closer, with Chevron branding planned

Terrible’s is getting closer to opening in Maricopa, and a new city filing shows the fuel brand planned for the site. According to InMaricopa, a comprehensive sign plan submitted Aug. 25 identifies the proposed station at the southwest corner of Honeycutt and Porter roads as Terrible Herbst-Chevron.

The 20-page plan shows Chevron branding on the fuel canopy and monument signs, while Terrible’s signage will appear on the building. The monument signs also are planned to include electronic fuel pricing, according to the filing.

The plan says signs facing the residential neighborhood north of the property will be nonilluminated. That detail appears aimed at reducing light spill toward nearby homes.

It is the first major update on the project since November, when Maricopa City Council approved a rezoning request for the 2.21-acre property, InMaricopa reported. At that time, plans called for a seven-pump gas station and a 6,100-square-foot convenience store.

In April, Jean Ventures submitted a major development review permit for the building and vehicle canopy, according to the report.
