Louis Tomlinson Shares His Honest Thoughts on One Direction Songs

Louis Tomlinson marked One Direction’s 16-year anniversary by sharing his thoughts on several of the group’s songs, according to Billboard. The band was formed on July 23, 2010, after Simon Cowell brought Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik back together on X Factor.

On Instagram Story, Tomlinson wrote that “Moments” brought back “so many special memories.” He called the track an “absolutely classic” song and said it was the first time he felt truly proud of his own vocals on a record.

He also praised “Na Na Na” as “peak lyricism” and said he has always loved “Kiss You.” About “Live While We’re Young,” Tomlinson said it was not his favorite, but called it a huge pop song and said he still remembers filming its video clearly.

Tomlinson also linked some songs to former bandmates, saying “Over Again” reminds him of Niall for some reason. He added that “More Than This” was when Liam Payne first discovered his falsetto, and said he remembers how proud the group was, according to Billboard.

One Direction went on to become one of the biggest pop groups of the 2010s, with four sold-out world tours, four No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 and six top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. The band split in 2016, and all five members later launched solo careers. Tomlinson is currently touring behind his album How Did I Get Here?, which debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 in February.
