Ray and Dave Davies say they’re “getting on great” and won’t rule out reunion

Ray and Dave Davies of The Kinks say they are “getting on great” and have not ruled out the possibility of a future reunion, according to NME. The brothers spoke ahead of the opening of their new exhibition, The Kinks: Brothers, in London.

The show opens at the Gibson Garage on July 24 and runs through September 6. It features collaboration with British portrait painter Christian Furr, who created mixed-media works based on a 1968 passport photobooth image of the pair taken in East Finchley, North London.

Dave Davies said seeing Furr’s paintings moved him to tears and made him reflect on the ups and downs of his relationship with Ray. He said there had been times when they could not stand each other, but added that those feelings have eased over time.

When asked about performing together again, Dave said he did not know but “never say never.” Ray and Dave last appeared on stage together in 2015, and they later worked on new Kinks material in 2019, according to NME.
