Lorde took aim at smart glasses during her performance Thursday, July 9, at the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, according to Stereogum.
While onstage, the pop star said it is getting harder to tell what is real in everyday life. She joked that people can no longer easily tell whether someone is wearing regular sunglasses or the kind of glasses she criticized.
“Fuck the Glasses. Don’t get the glasses. Not sexy,” Lorde told the crowd, according to the report.
The comments may have been aimed at Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses, since Ray-Ban sponsors the festival, though Stereogum noted she could also have been referring to Meta AI Glasses more broadly.
