Lil Uzi Vert was unable to play a planned birthday set at Lollapalooza after severe weather led to a last-minute cancellation, according to NME. The performance had been scheduled for Friday night, July 31, as part of the Chicago festival.
Even without the solo set, Lil Uzi Vert still showed up at the event. They surprised fans by joining Major Lazer on Perry’s Stage to perform the 2022 track “Just Wanna Rock,” and the crowd later sang “Happy Birthday.”
On the same day, Lil Uzi Vert also released a surprise EP titled Maverick ‘Almost Forever’. NME reported that it is his first project since 2024’s Eternal Atake 2.
The release also arrived 10 years to the day after The Perfect LUV Tape came out. NME noted that the new EP continues the artist’s pattern of sharing music on his birthday.
