Jennifer Lopez is reflecting on her relationships and saying that heartbreak has played a big role in her personal growth, according to E! News. The two-time Grammy nominee turns 57 on July 24, but she already started celebrating with a trip to Europe with her sister, Lynda Lopez.
In a June appearance on Kareem Rahma’s SubwayTakes, Lopez said breakups should not be seen as failures. She described them as a chance to begin again and said people should celebrate a breakup when it leads to the best outcome for everyone involved.
Lopez also said she has learned a lot from being on both sides of a split. She explained that some of her biggest emotional, mental and psychological growth has come from heartbreak, including difficulties in work as well as romance.
Her most recent marriage ended in 2024 when she and Ben Affleck separated after two years. Lopez told CBS Sunday Morning last year that the breakup helped her become more self-aware and grow in ways she needed to.
The article also revisits several of Lopez’s past relationships and marriages, including her marriages to Marc Anthony, Cris Judd and Ojani Noa. Lopez said her children with Anthony, Emme and Max, have both gotten into college with scholarships and are heading where they want to go.
