Charli XCX has revealed her top five songs from across her own catalog during an interview on SPIN’s Lipps Service podcast, according to NME. The list came as she was promoting her new album, Music, Fashion, Film, which was released today, Friday July 24.
At the end of the conversation, host Scott Lipps asked her to choose her “top five Charli XCX songs of all time.” Charli said one of her picks was “Stay Away,” the first song she officially released, from her debut album True Romance, calling it especially sentimental.
She also named “Next Level Charli” from her 2019 self-titled album and the “365” remix with Shygirl from the Brat remix record. Charli said the latter felt like “the ultimate party song” because it is also “kind of sad,” adding that it reflects her own difficulty knowing when to leave a party.
Rounding out her list were “Track 10” from the Pop 2 mixtape and “Vroom Vroom,” which she said was the first song she ever made with SOPHIE. When asked about a standout from Music, Fashion, Film, she chose the closing track “No One Lasts Forever” featuring David Cronenberg, saying it may be one of her favorite songs she has ever written.
