Becca Tobin has welcomed her second child with husband Zach Martin, a baby girl named Meyer June Martin, according to E! News.
Tobin said on a July 23 episode of her podcast, The LadyGang, that the baby arrived early after the couple decided to move forward with delivery because their surrogate, Katie, was dealing with preeclampsia. Tobin said the condition can be dangerous for both the surrogate and the baby.
According to Tobin, Meyer was born on July 19, more than five weeks ahead of her due date of August 26. She said the baby weighed 5 pounds, 9 ounces at birth.
Tobin said Meyer is doing well but remains in the NICU and is expected to stay there for two to six weeks. She also noted that the baby’s umbilical cord was wrapped around twice at birth.
The actress said the delivery was especially memorable because she was able to help deliver her daughter herself. Tobin and Martin are also parents to 4-year-old Rutherford “Ford” Thomas Martin, whom they welcomed through a previous surrogate.
