JENNIE has apologized to fans after some BLINKs said they felt disappointed by the way BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary was marked, according to Billboard. The group’s debut anniversary was Aug. 8.
In a post on Weverse on Monday, Aug. 17, JENNIE said she had been thinking about the milestone and felt sad that she did not get to properly speak with fans earlier. She explained that she waited until after her last scheduled festival performance so she could return with a clearer mind.
JENNIE also thanked fans for the past 10 years, saying their support gave the group some of its most meaningful moments and helped them grow. She said the anniversary should have been a time to celebrate together and added that she regretted fans being left feeling let down.
According to Billboard, YG Entertainment arranged a small meet-and-greet in Seoul with 40 BLINKs who had paid Weverse memberships. BLACKPINK’s official X account also posted a video from the gathering, and JISOO reportedly addressed fans’ disappointment during a Weverse livestream before the event.
Since debuting in 2016, BLACKPINK has placed 11 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and five albums on the Billboard 200, including Born Pink, which debuted at No. 1 in 2022.
