Jenna Ortega says she found out she would be part of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Taste” music video only a few days before filming, according to Rolling Stone.
In an interview with Esquire, Ortega said the video was not heavily choreographed and that the two performers had little time to prepare or talk through the scenes. She described the shoot as fast-moving and improvised.
Ortega recalled one sequence in which she kisses a man, stays in position while Carpenter appears, and then kisses her before the scene repeats. She called it “a carousel of lovers.”
The Wednesday star said her favorite part to film was the chainsaw sequence, which she described as especially campy and fun. She also said the chainsaw had a name or reference tied to Carpenter, possibly “Espresso 3000.”
Carpenter released the “Taste” video in 2024 and later thanked her team and Ortega, saying she had envisioned Ortega for the project and was thrilled to see her on screen.
