Jelly Roll is speaking candidly about his struggle with overeating while going through his divorce from ex Bunnie Xo, according to E! News.
In a July 10 YouTube video, the singer said he had been stress eating for several days and felt the same kind of pull he once experienced with drug addiction. He described how one indulgent food choice can lead to a bigger binge before he realizes how many extra calories he has consumed.
He also said people do not always understand food addiction because it can happen out of sight, including in private or even in a car. Jelly Roll said he believes severe weight gain is often tied to deeper mental health struggles and that understanding personal triggers is an important part of change.
The singer has been open about his weight-loss journey before. According to E! News, he said in November 2024 that he had lost 120 pounds and wanted to be honest about his struggles so fans would know he succeeded despite his weight, not because of it.
