Jay-Z kicked off his three-night run at New York’s Yankee Stadium on Friday with a show celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, according to Stereogum.
The night opened with Beyoncé joining him on “Can’t Knock The Hustle,” with her “Love On Top” worked into the performance. Later, Nas came onstage for a medley that included “Dead Presidents,” “Dead Presidents II,” “The World Is Yours,” “N.Y. State of Mind” and “Where I’m From.”
Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, also appeared during “Feelin’ It,” helping with piano and vocals. Other guests included Memphis Bleek on “Coming Of Age,” Jaz-O on “Bring It On,” and Alicia Keys on “Empire State Of Mind.”
Jay-Z is set to return to the stadium for a show honoring the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint on Saturday, followed by an extra concert on Sunday that is expected to feature a greatest-hits style set.
