Pulp celebrated Rough Trade’s 50th anniversary with a special orchestral performance at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Saturday night, playing their album More from start to finish, according to NME.
The band were joined by the Elysium Collective and frontman Jarvis Cocker used a PowerPoint-style presentation to talk the audience through the songs. He also played demos and early versions of several tracks, including songs such as “Spike Island,” “Grown Ups,” “Farmer’s Market,” “Got To Have Love” and an early take of “A Sunset” by Richard Hawley.
Cocker also paid tribute to late bassist Steve Mackey, telling a story about attaching one of Mackey’s ties to a rock in Iceland in his memory. That led into “Open Strings,” a B-side written about and performed in tribute to Mackey.
Elsewhere in the set, Pulp played “Begging for Change,” performed “Wickerman” live for the first time since 2011, delivered “This Is Hardcore,” covered ABBA’s “The Day Before You Came,” and closed with “Something Changed.”
The band’s 2026 summer tour is nearing its end, with upcoming appearances including All Together Now in Ireland, Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park and End Of The Road Festival, according to NME.
