Mumford and Sons surprised the crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Tuesday night by bringing out a special guest, Jason Sudeikis, according to Rolling Stone.
The Ted Lasso star and co-creator joined Marcus Mumford onstage for an impromptu performance of the show’s theme song. Fans reacted with loud cheers as the two sang together and shared a hug before Sudeikis returned to the audience.
Rolling Stone notes that Mumford has also worked on other solo projects in recent years, including the 2020 song “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and music for Ted Lasso. The Apple TV show’s theme song was nominated for an Emmy in 2021.
The article also says Ted Lasso returned for a highly anticipated fourth season earlier this month, with Sudeikis back in the title role. The new season also includes returning cast members Brett Goldstein, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift, along with several new additions.
