Jason Sudeikis has revealed how much he was making for Ted Lasso before the show wrapped its original run. According to E! News, the co-creator and star earned $1 million per episode in 2023, with the possibility of more if he had agreed to keep the series going.
Sudeikis said he did not see a reason to extend the story beyond the three-season arc that had already been planned. He told The Hollywood Reporter that the ending made sense for Ted to return home to Kansas City and be with his son.
Despite that, Ted Lasso is coming back for a fourth season on Apple TV+, which premieres Aug. 5. In the new season, Ted returns to England to coach AFC Richmond’s all-female team, alongside familiar characters including Rebecca Welton, Keeley Jones, Coach Beard and Roy Kent.
The return has been an emotional one for the cast as well. Hannah Waddingham said she felt nervous about doing the series justice, while Juno Temple said she worried about whether she could still do it well after time away from the show.
